Annamaria  Succi Edelstein was born in Milan, she spent most of her life in England
and after living in Venice for twelve years has, since 2008, lived in the Cotswolds.

Having worked for Sotheby’s as editor of the Sotheby year book ‘Art at Auction’ she then left to head the British Rail Pension Fund’s art investment programme. When British Rail was privatised and the collection sold, she became an  independent dealer in old master drawings.

She began painting, as a career in 1995, studying with David Cranswick in London and Charles Cecil in Florence. She undoubtedly brings to her work the accumulated knowledge of seeing and handling works by the old masters.

Her great interest is in ‘Still Life ‘. The control of light and arrangement of colour that this genre encourages, is demonstrated in her small and very concentrated paintings.

Since her return to England she has started painting landscapes and held an exhibition of them in 2011
